Rows and rows of flowers creating a wave of color, Carlsbad Flower Field is an annual event done for the celebration of Spring. The flower fields consist mainly of miniature rose in a variety of colors. The field is on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Carlsbad, CA. A lot of tourists and locals visit the fields to see its annual beauty. Here are some pictures of my visit.

California Poppy, or Eschscholzia californica, is known for its Vibrant Orange and Yellow Colors. Its found through out open grassy areas on California mountains. It is also found on the sides of freeways, catching your eyes in an instant. These flowers grown in big families, making it a beautiful scene to capture. So i got a good chance this year to take pictures of these wonderful flowers. First i spotted them on the side of Highway 15 and then traveled to Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. So Spring is here, and so are the poppies in California!

Sedona

Sedona is a small city in Arizona, just before Grand Canyon. The Red Rock sandstone formations glow Orange/Gold during sunrise and sunset and for a beautiful backdrop in the desert environment. The rock formations reminds of the Wild West movies. I got a chance to use my Canon 5D for the first time on this trip during my spring break. We spent two days, hiking and photographing certain trails in the Sedona area. I really have to thank my parents for all the support they have given me. So thank you! :)

Chiaroscuro

Chiaroscuro
Focal length: 18mm
Shutter speed: 1/10
ISO: 1600
Aperture: f/5.6

The technique of Chiaroscuro was something I learnt in HighSchool Art Class. Chiaroscuro is a technique artists used to show contrasts of light and dark in depicting depth of field in an object. Antelope Canyon is one of the best place for beautiful Chiaroscuro in photography. Carved in sandstone and water from millions of years, this Navajo reservation has beautiful scenes located in the depth of its narrow canyon spaces. The best time to visit this place is Noon, when the sun is right above your head giving dramatic light effects in the canyon. Here are some pictures of the place when i last visited.

Desert

Traveling from West Coast towards East in United States, you are bound to trip through the desert, with states like Arizona, Nevada, Utah and New Mexico known for its Deserts and Dunes. Desert lands are known for its dry hot conditions. Even though USA is not known for its desert conditions, it has its areas of hot temperature, reaching at 110 degrees Fahrenheit. It receives less than 10inches of rain annually, automatically making areas like Arizona state in desert conditions. Here are some pictures taken while traveling through Arizona, USA.
