Smell the flowers

Vogue'd Uno Mas!
Its always wonderful being recognized in Vogue Italia. Here is another one of my shots that was approved. check out the look...eeks...excitement! I hope to keep pursuing this journey. no matter what the bumps and holes I have to cross over. I really hope you as an audience understand that a Photographer doesn't just mean taking pictures because you own a camera and you know the technique of proper lighting. Its about expression. A visual personality. Its about color. The feel. I love this capture and it is one of my favorite shoots thus far. Especially because we got to play with bunnies.

Life is Wonderful

Today, I made a short HD video. Had one of the most beautiful days in terms of weather here in San Diego with rain and then sunshine and then rain again! funky and fun! And it was my birthday! YAY! So hung out with family, friends and dogs! Had lots of fun and relaxed a bit! and then shot the video! :) For the first time I used my dad's Nikon D90! I kno...I went to the dark side since Im a CANON Girl! but my 5D doesnt have video, so used his camera to make a small video! first video! :) My inspiration was Jason Mraz song 'Life is Wonderful'. So enjoy! do tell me how it is (other than the shakey/wind blowing part!)
Thanks everyone!!!

Spring is here!

Aperture: f/1.4

Spring is one of my favorite seasons. It gives me plenty of opportunity to use my Macro Lens with Flower blooms. But this year I also tried using my 50mm f/1.4 to give a lens blur effect in the flowers (as seen in the first picture). I really like the lens blur effect it gives to the photos and hope you guys like it too! :) Again, no Photoshop, but just right out of the camera. I know post processing is necessary but i don't own Ps/Lr yet! Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the color! takecarez and enjoy the blooms this year! Do check out my old posts of Spring from last year: A Wave of Spring 09.

Ladybugs

Focal length: 100mm
Shutter speed: 1/320

ISO: 100
Aperture: f/5

The fun friendly bugs known as Coccinellidae or Ladybugs is a beautiful insect part of the beetle family. There are 5000 different kinds of ladybugs around the world and about 450 live here in North America. Ladybugs, like other beetles and insects, go from eggs to larval to pupa until they become the Adult Ladybugs. Most children consider it their favorite insect. Ladybugs are one my favorites to photograph. They give a pop of color to the flower or leaf they are on. Check out some pictures ive captured since the beginning of this january. Enjoy!

Live to be Inspired

Went out to get inspired by the world, as people usually say it. I decided to choose this theme as I wanted to post about it before my birthday. Birthdays are usually when one learns from the past and hopes & dreams of the future. I used some inspirational quotes as the title for each picture to show inspiration. The quotes are not a very literal translation of each picture, but just a mere feeling i had of the pictures. Hope you enjoy it!
