Faire La Noce for Jute Magazine

I did this shoot a while back. It was probably one of the hardest to get published. Just didn't understand why. I am so glad it is finally out! This team and I worked super hard for these pictures. Learnt so much in this shoot. It was the first time ever I had 23 people working on a shoot. It was definitely a day to remember. Lots of stories. Thank you team for all you effort. I know your frustration but it is finally here.

Behind the Scenes: Kenneth Barlis

Today, I had a wonderful opportunity to work with my super team again. I just have to say I love working with Kenneth Barlis designs. Its high fashion couture and I had the chance to take the shoot based on ideas I came up with and make up and hair help from Chaya (claudia nunez). I also want to add that this was the first official Canon 5D mark III shoot. It was so exciting. Here are some behind the scenes shots:

Model: Katelyn
Hair: Badri Keramani
Make up: Chaya (Claudia Nunez)

Behind the Scenes: White Princess Photoshoot

Today, I spent a lot of time driving to this location and setting up the shoot. Lot of things had gone wrong initially and the shoot was a little uncertain because of everyones travel time. But in the end I am so glad it happened so well. All the uncertainty went away when I saw the designer and make up had already started. Basically, it was all about the location and and the climate around it. Here is the behind the scenes look - pictures from designers and make up artists instagrams:

Today was an amazing day as I can say I have just shot on of my favorite editorials! I was steaming this idea for quite a while and found this wonderful team that just made everything perfect. Here is the look behind the scenes of this shoot. I cannot wait to share the full editorial - but can only do that as soon as its published! (excited face!) I hope I do more amazing shoots just like this one. Thank you!

Model: Kayla Cashman (my precious :P)

Hair: Katherine
Photography: Pavithra (me)

About a year ago - April 22nd of 2011 - I photographed Kayla Cashman. I always think of her as my lucky charm because she was the first girl I shot an editorial with and we got it published: Heritage of Feathers in Racing Minds Magazine. It really feels like I have grown this past year. It is the first shot that got published in Vogue. Now I can say I got VOGUE-d! :] Here is the pictures and with the Vogue water mark (love!).

Warrior Princess

So today was a scary day for me. Not only was this my first shoot with a horse it was also the first time someone got hurt at the photoshoot. Everything was going great. The makeup and hair was coming along wonderfully, the designer brought some gorgeous dresses for the gorgeous model to wear and the horse was getting brushed ready for the shoot. As we move to the grass area we hear wind picking up, still everything was fine. And we get to this perfect location - trees all around, the greenest grass you could ever find, everything looking gorgeous. The model gets ready to go on the horse and all of a sudden the wind picks up as she is climbing on the horse and the horse decides to throw her over. She flips over the front of the horse and lands on the grass. I think one of the bravest models I have ever seen. I learned a lot today - nothing is predictable and even if everything is perfect you have to take small steps. And people's safety is first and foremost! Super glad to share that the model is doing great and she only suffered a sprain on her hand. Thank you chauntelle for being so brave! Models like you really show what this Industry is all about - strength and beauty!
